Nokia Point and Find

Nokia has released a beta version of their Point and Find software that allows users to point the camera on their s60 device and view information about it.  The beta only supports and handful of S60 handsets and only had the option to find information on products and movies.  I took the beta application and put it to the test by going to the movie theatres.   The application works well and has pretty good accuracy in detecting movies.  It takes a little time to initialize but once its setup it will detect movie posters instantly.  It does sometimes mistake current movies for older ones, but if you steady the camera or move in closer, it will correct itself. Once locked it can provide trailers, times, and other information about the movie. As far as detecting products and finding knowledge on them, that proved more difficult. The database seems limited and the camera has a hard time detecting products.    I am still testing the software and it is a beta, but overall this is a fun application to experiment with. Enjoy.
