I have a pair of these headphones, they are superb, brilliant sound quality. I love them :-)

A lot of people get confused with the noise cancellation, mainly because Nokia don't explain it properly. It's designed to cancel ambient noise (noises at a consistent frequency) i.e. the rumble of engines when on an aeroplane or the sound of traffic. It doesn't cancel voices etc as they're not at a constant frequency although it will dampen it.

When you bear this in mind I find the noise cancellation to be extremely effective.
