Its been a couple days since the announcement of the XpressMusic 5800 and I have been thinking, if this is the mid range device, then what does Nokia have planned for its high end touch enabled device. Lets start with a list of possible improvements.

• Camera: Definetly room to improve here, most likely case that a 5MP Carl Zeiss lens will be used, although it would be even more of a surprise to see Nokia use a 8MP lens (highly doubt it since the N96 flagship is touting a 5MP)
• Screen: Although the resolution is great, there could be room for expansion of the screen size. Possibly something to match up with the Iphone increasing the 3.2″ screen to 3.5″ or larger.
• Graphics: high end graphics module to enable better handling of 3D. It has not been confirmed what type of chip is being used in the XpressMusic 5800 but it is capable of handling 3D.
• Physical: Last but not least the physical aspect of the phone.  Making it thinner or even adding a qwerty keyboard?

What a day, Nokia has finally let the public see its first touch device that will be released in Q4 of 2008, and most likely Q1 2009 for the U.S.  The device supports the latest in the S60 series, S60 5th edition that will enable user a touch interface.  Here are some of the specs of the device:

• 3.2″ 16 million color nHD Screen with a screen resolution of 640×360
• 3.5mm audio connector with TV Out support, 
• MicroSD slot with support for 16GB (8GB stick will come standard in the package)
• GPS 
• 3.2MP Camera with Carl Zeiss Optics and video capability (640×480 TV quality) and Dual LED Flash
